Bokrug first appeared in the story The Doom That Came to Sarnath (1919), written by H.P. Lovecraft. Bokrug was a god worshiped by the beings of the city of Ib. The beings of Ib were killed by the men that founded the city Sarnath. 1,000 years after the massacre Bokrug helped the ghosts of the Beings of Ib take their revenge on Sarnath.
