First player

The player who acts first on several occasions like receiving fixed possessions at the beginning of the game or drawing cards during encounters. This player has the First player marker. During each phase, every player, starting with the first player and continuing clockwise, performs the actions that take place during that phase. At the beginning of the game and during the Mythos phase, the first player is also responsible for drawing and resolving the Mythos card. Also the first player often plays a role of a tiebreaker, for example when a flying monster should move towards one of several investigators.

At the beginning of the game, players should choose who will be the first player. Afterwards the First player marker is passed to the left at the end of every turn and the player who receives it becomes the first player.
