Inspector John Raymond Legrasse, a New Orleans police inspector, appears in Lovecraft's The Call of Cthulhu (1926), one of the core stories of the Mythos. Legrasse's story of a raid on a cult ceremony, "The Tale of Inspector Legrasse", makes up the second phase of that story.
