The Black Goat of the Woods is a smaller expansion, incorporating new cards, card types, and new game mechanics, but without a new gameboard. It is the fifth expansion for Arkham Horror and was released in June 2008.

This expansion introduces Difficulty level selection, Cult Encounters, and investigator Corruption to the Gameplay, and added The Black Goat of the Woods herald.
